[ 2018-09-28 ] New Student Orientation

On September 14, the first-semester exchange students of the 2018-2019 academic year met for their new student orientation. They were welcomed by Professor Andrew Rathmann, the Director of International Students, who, along with other members of the Office of International Affairs, introduced the university, explained its academic programs, and offered the students suggestions for living in Taipei. Afterwards, student volunteers gave the incoming students a tour of the school campus and its surrounding neighborhood.

Professor Rathmann shared some of his own experiences as a foreigner living in Taiwan, and he offered to answer all questions, making the event relaxed and fun. In this welcoming atmosphere, the new students were able to resolve many of their initial concerns.

This semester, most of the exchange students come from Europe, especially Germany and France.  In addition to being interested in Asian culture, the students hope to learn about local ways of life during their exchange.  The Office of International Affairs is committed to providing assistance to them both in their studies and in their lives outside of school.
