(CNA News) The fifth "Venerable Mater Hsing Yun Public Education Award" to promote the spirit of model teachers was announced a few days ago. Dr. Chang, Ruay-Shiung, who has dedicated to education for twenty years and is currently the President of National Taipei University of Business, is one of the winners this year. President Chang has engaged in higher education with his information technology specialty for many years. His attention to digital education in remote areas and active participation in attracting outstanding contributions to improve the quality of education in rural areas has enabled him to receive the "Venerable Mater Hsing Yun Public Education Award" model teacher recognition.

Dr. Chang, Ruay-Shiung served as the Vice President of Tunghua University and President of Taiwan Hospitality and Tourism University before he became the President of NTUB where he has recently been reelected as President for the next few years. President Chang has been devoting himself tirelessly to research and effective leadership in promoting vocational education. Besides advocating for vocational education, President Chang has brought reform and innovation into vocational education and has actively shared his academic and professional views on higher education policy to bring significant improvements to our society.

The "Venerable Mater Hsing Yun Public Education Award" focuses on character education, and although this year’s 22 winners come from all walks of life, they share the same personal commitment. They have devoted their whole lives to education and teaching. In addition, they practice the philosophy of pursuing the humanistic spirit of caring for the poor, the lowly, and the underprivileged. President Chang has promoted character education on campus and made it a goal of NTUB to spread the power of positivity from campus to society. He has gained formal approval and support from students, parents, and faculty members.
