Dear students,

It is with great pleasure that we would like to invite NTUB students to apply for the STEP SOCIOVATION FORUM 2020 which will be held from 5 - 11 March 2020 at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). 

Following the theme “ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH VISUAL STORYTELLING”, the upcoming forum will once again bring together 70 young leaders from ASEAN & Greater China Regions, this time with a focus on environmental sustainability. 

The complexities of today’s climate and sustainability challenges demand that we learn how to leverage on one another’s strengths, working together in collaboration. This forum will take our young leaders from Asia through an active exploration of environmental issues. From research and story-scouting, to narrative crafting, visual literacy and the technical aspects of filmmaking and photography, participants will walk away empowered to tell compelling stories that matter.

Who should apply?

This forum is open to undergraduates studying in public / state-funded universities from ASEAN & Greater China Regions who meet the following criteria:

• Strong leadership experience,
• Able to communicate effectively in English,
• Passionate about protecting their country’s environment,
• Have interest in photography and documentary-making, and
• Able to work hard on a post-programme project from March to June 2020.

If selected, the following expenses will be fully-sponsored / provided by SUSS:

• Round-trip Economy Class Flight to Singapore,
• Hostel accommodation and,
• Meals.

If applicable, the following expenses will be paid by the students:

• Passport application fee,
• Travel insurance.
