NTUB has signed a sister-school memorandum of understanding and exchange agreement with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain.

The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) was founded in 1968.  Its main campus, Cantoblanco, is located near the cities of Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, and Tres Cantos.  UAM's Cantoblanco Campus holds most of the university's facilities.  In total, the university has 59 departments, eight research institutes, and 31,722 students.

UAM is among the best educational institutions in Spain and the European Union in terms of quality of teaching and research.  It is one of the top public universities in Madrid.  According to the QS Rankings, UAM ranks 186th in the world and 12th in Europe.
